about
Last year I did a "track-a-week" thing with Jana Pochop, Daniel Barrett and Roland Garcia where each week for a month we each, um....wrote a song. This was one of my weeks. Working title was Moonshadow which, for obvious reasons, got confusing. And so it became, and forever will be, Rocks & Bones.
lyrics
LYRICS:
words float off of your tongue and
dissipate in the air
and at the same time
they solidify in my heart
and stay forever there
I collect them and keep them in a box
a box of rocks and bones
words molded to memory
they make me feel less alone
moonshadow cast long
on this painted shield
we travel the great plains
to find out what we feel
life's shedding layers
with every phase we leave a skin behind
and i hope I can be the girl for you
but your head's full of her
and there can't be two
I'm breakable but brave
her miss could be my save
we're all just shedding layers
every day
moonshadow cast long
on this painted shield
we travel the great plains
to find out what we feel
I'm breakable but brave
her miss could be my save
who will keep away the chill?
i will
brave like a lion
soft like a lamb
if you wonder if i'll wait
I am
moonshadow cast long
on this painted shield
we travel the great plains
to find out what we feel
